ThermX

ThermX is FIC's solution for recovering energy from dirty effluent that would otherwise be lost.

It is a heat exchanger that can operate even with very dirty liquids, thanks to its self-cleaning principle: it consists of a system of concentrically assembled plate rings, against whose surfaces a system of brushes rotates continuously to keep them constantly clean.

The hot, dirty fluid circulates through the space from one ring to the next by gravity, while the clean fluid is pumped through the rings so that the heat is transferred to it.  The whole system is simple and functional: the brushes, with their continuous, circular movement, not only ensure that the surface is cleaned, but also provide sufficient turbulence, so that heat transfer is efficient and the heat transfer coefficient is at a high, constant value.

Maintenance is limited, thanks to the robust construction that FIC has designed and developed.

The ThermX can be used for direct heat recovery or in a heat pump installation.

Typical uses for the ThermX are: vegetable processing lines, abattoirs, dairy plants, pulp mills, tanneries, textile plants, industrial washing lines, etc.

ThermX is made entirely of stainless steel, and its range covers energy recovery capacities of up to 500 kW per unit, with flow rates ranging from a few m3/h to 100 m3/h
